Life in Alaska

The wildlife is sometimes closer than we think up here. There’s an article in today’s paper about a couple who came home to find a bear ransacking their house. The bear had managed to open up the freezer and find some chicken and bread to eat. The consensus is that the bear was hungry and looking for food. The couple was doing everything right to prevent attracting bears to their house, but their home is the one he choose. I love the quote the man had about the bear, which had to be shot since it was starting to act aggressive: “The bear needed to get out of the house,” he said. “He’s got all of Alaska to play in, and I’m just asking for this one small area.” http://www.adn.com/front/story/410474.html
