Life in Alaska

It’s getting hot in here … the high today is supposed to 64 degrees with a low of only 42. Most places wouldn’t consider that really warm, but up here in
Alaska, it’s getting hot. One local morning radio show host is complaining that it’s getting too hot to sleep at night. Of course, the 65 degrees is combined with almost 19 hours of sunlight, so the low isn’t around for very long. And, there really isn’t any air conditioning up here in people’s homes. Most, like us, have portable air conditioners for the off-chance that it gets really hot, say about 70. This will be our first summer, so we’ll see how we do …
